2023 Family Services Center Annual Partner Outcomes Report

“Strengthening the fabric of our community by empowering people to help themselves and each other.”

The Family Services Center is a collaboration among government and non-profit agencies working together to provide an integrated client service delivery system. Agencies at the center offer health and human services to Charlotte County individuals and families. The following agencies are located at the center now:

  • Area Agency on Aging - Services to older adults including wellness programs and aging grants administration
  • Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County, Inc. - After school and summer program that provides positive youth development programs and services including education, character development, arts and recreation. Contact: 941.743.1507
  • Charlotte Behavioral Health Care - Offering mental health and substance abuse counseling for youth and families. Contact 941.639.8300
  • Charlotte County Human Services - Intake and Neighborhood Services offer information and referral; financial assistance; homeless prevention, housing stability and self-sufficiency case management.  Aging and Adult and Veterans Services offer elder/disabled/veteran service navigation.
  • Charlotte County Public Schools - School Social Workers; 
  • Charlotte County Sheriff's Office - Community Policing Division; Neighborhood Watch; Mental Health Unit (IRIS and Senior Case Manager)
  • Children's Advocacy Center - Provides a coordinated response to child victims of abuse and neglect; and improve the lives of at-risk children and their families through prevention services.  Offers abuse determination services as well as therapeutic counseling, parenting education and prevention programs in Lee, Hendry, Glades and Charlotte Counties.
  • Department of Health Charlotte County - WIC program aims to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.  Health promotion and education programming.
  • Drug Free Charlotte County - Provides education to youth on life skills, substance use issues and building healthy coping skills as well as parenting skills and other programs to help build strong, healthy families. Contact: 941.777.3945
  • Dubin Center - Savvy Caregiver educational class, support group, Brain Booster Social Group for seniors.
  • Florida Rural Legal Services - Legal aid for low-income persons
  • Gulf Coast Partnership - Administers funding and coordinates the implementation of a housing and services system for vulnerable populations
  • Head Start - Early childhood supports 
  • Healthy Start - Providing early intervention services
  • Loveland Center - Young adult transitional services; supported employment services; independent living coaches; recreational services.
  • Lutheran Services of Florida - Individual and family counseling
  • Peace River Community Housing Partnership (PORCH) - Community Land Trust; Affordable housing provider for extremely low-income households
  • Rebuilding Together - Disaster Readiness and Recovery, Home Repair and Rehab.
  • St. Vincent de Paul CARES - Housing stabilization case management and housing placement for veteran and non-veteran families.
  • Senior Friendship Center - Friendship at Home program; friendly visitors and crisis intervention for seniors.
  • United Way of Charlotte County - VITA tax assistance; financial assistance administration; non-profit supports

Community Garden

The Family Services Center Community Garden planning is underway!  The Community Garden will return, as an excellent addition to the Integrated Client Services programming offered at the FSC.  Leased partners share in the planning, maintenance, and programming for the Community Garden, in collaboration with volunteers offering day to day oversight.  Interested in volunteering?  Have ideas for fun, educational and interesting programming?  Call the FSC at 941.235.0668 for more information.
